CQ Summarizer is a Chrome extension that extracts key information from Criminal Query (CQ) PDF files on the user’s device. We collect and use only the minimum data necessary to validate paid licences.
Data element: Chrome profile ID (obfuscated GAIA ID)
Source: Returned by chrome.identity.getProfileUserInfo()
Purpose: Verify that the Chrome profile is linked to a paid seat.
Retention: Cached locally for up to 7 days, then discarded.
Data element: Primary Chrome-profile e-mail address
Source: Not transmitted off the device.
Purpose: Not stored by us.
CQ Summarizer does not access PDF contents until you select a file, and the extracted text never leaves your device.
License validation: The GAIA ID is sent once to our licence server to confirm that the profile has an active subscription.
We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties. The GAIA ID is compared only against our own licence database and is never disclosed beyond that purpose.
All network traffic uses HTTPS.
Licence responses contain no personal data.
Positive licence results are stored in Chrome’s local storage, which is sandboxed per profile and encrypted by the browser.
Local cache: The licence flag is deleted automatically seven (7) days after it is stored.
Server logs: GAIA IDs in our server logs are used for operational troubleshooting, after which they are purged.
Remove data: Clearing Chrome’s extension storage removes the local licence cache immediately.
Uninstall: Removing the extension deletes all data held on the device.
Contact us: E-mail spencer@casemomonitor.com to request deletion of any GAIA IDs that may appear in server logs.
We may update this Privacy Policy when we add features or must comply with new regulations. Material changes will be sign-posted in the extension’s release notes and on our website.
